The accelerating energy consumption in modern society stimulates the rapid development of alternative energy technology to utilize energy resources in more efficient, clean and renewable manner. It has become extremely important to develop new energy conversion and storage systems. The performance of these devices intimately relies on the structure and properties of the component materials. Carbon nanomaterials, such as one-dimensional (1D) carbon nanotubes and two-dimensional (2D) graphene, have attracted great interest in recent years because of their unique structures, superior electrical and mechanical properties. However, these 1D and 2D nanomaterials exhibit extremely poor out-of-plane transport properties due to the weak van der Waals interaction in the transverse direction. Recent theoretical and experimental studies have indicated certain three-dimensional (3D) architectures could possess desirable out-of-plane properties while maintaining in-plane properties, which shows great potential applications in energy related applications.
We have designed a series of novel three-dimensional carbon nanomaterials made of carbon nanotubes or graphene for energy conversion and storage, such as B, N doped graphene foams (Figure 1a) and nitrogen doped graphene foams (Figure 1a). Recnetly, we have developed a strategy of creating 3D graphene-CNT hollow fibers (Figure 1c) with radially aligned carbon nanotubes (RACNTs) seamlessly sheathed by a cylindrical graphene layer through a one-step chemical vapor deposition using an anodized aluminum wire template. These 3D carbon nanomaterials have been used for energy conversion and storage with high performance.
个人简介:
薛裕华,男,1979年11月出生,毕业于浙江大学化工系,获工学博士学位,先后在美国凯斯西储大学和澳大利亚新南威尔士大学从事科研工作,现在为新南威尔士大学的“校长特聘博士后研究学者”(Vice-Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Research Fellow)。主要从事碳纳米材料的制备及能源应用研究,在三维碳纳米材料的制备、太阳能电池、超级电容器等领域开展了多项开拓性研究,取得了多项创新成果。至今已经发表各类论文近50篇(第一作者和通讯作者文章17篇,英文专著3篇),其中包括Science Advances (Science子刊),Chemical Reviews,Advanced Materials, Angewandte Chemie International Edition等刊物。影响因子大于10的SCI论文11篇,所有论文的影响因子总和大于300,总引用次数大于2000,HI 指数21.
